Seven Handle Circus Takes On a-ha, Preps New Album

Gearing up for the release of their debut album Shadows on the Wall (out Oct. 20th), six-piece Atlanta-based folk-rock group Seven Handle Circus recently played for a packed house at Tipitina’s in New Orleans, and before the show they worked up a bluegrass-style cover of Norwegian synthpop band a-ha’s 1984 hit “Take On Me” on the sidewalk outside the venue. A video of the semi-impromptu street jam premiered on Conan O’Brien’s Team Coco website, and can be watched here:

While “Take On Me” will not appear on Shadows on the Wall, fans can get an advance taste of the album with the original song “And We Danced,” the video for which can be viewed here:

Recorded in New Orleans and Atlanta with producer Tom Drummond of the Louisiana band Better Than Ezra, Shadows on the Wall is set to arrive in retail shops on Oct. 20th. Coinciding with the release, the band will play Atlanta’s Buckhead Theatre on Oct. 18th and the Macon Octoberfest on Oct. 24th.
