Savannah’s Kylesa to Release Seventh Album October 2nd

Heavy-edged Savannah-based band Kylesa will release their seventh album, Exhausting Fire, on Oct. 2nd via independent label Season of Mist.

The advance word from the band is that this will be their most diverse, honest and raw album yet, incorporating psychedelic rock, new wave, space-age Americana, ‘80s goth and death metal into their sludgy punk/metal roots.

Guitarist/vocalist Laura Pleasants maintains that “no band sounds like us and we don’t sound like any other band. After all these years of experimenting with different styles and sounds, we’ve really developed our own thing… With this album, we’ve successfully made a record that incorporates all the elements we’ve always played with into a record that works on its own.” Pleasants’ longtime bandmate, bassist/vocalist Phillip Cope, produced and engineered the recording.

The lead single from Exhausting Fire, “Lost and Confused,” can be heard here at Soundcloud.

The group will be touring extensively throughout the late summer and fall, including Georgia dates Sept. 7th at Sky City in Augusta, Oct. 9th at The Jinx in Savannah and Aug. 29th at the Drunken Unicorn in Atlanta.
