Suntrodden, the name under which singer/songwriter Erik Stephansson records his stripped-down indie pop songs, has released the second in a planned three-part suite of digital EPs.
Talking about the five songs on Suntrodden II, recorded in his home studio, Stephansson says, “The first EP (titled Suntrodden I) had a little darkness on its edges. I started to melt the shadows away and let some light into the songs. This one feels brighter and relaxed – more hopeful.” The easygoing songs are piano-based, with organs and analog synths fleshing out the instrumentation. Both EPs are available at suntrodden.bandcamp.com.
One would assume that Suntrodden III will materialize sometime in 2017.
