Macon Pops: Celebrating the Music of Ray Charles!

Feb. 24 • Macon

The music of the Genius himself, Albany, Georgia native Ray Charles, will be brought to life on Friday, Feb. 24 in a tribute concert presented by the Macon Pops Jazz Orchestra at the Cox Capitol Theatre. Local vocalists and actors Charles Davis and Kim Epps will join the Pops as special guests for the evening. Tickets for the annual fundraiser ranger from $30 in the balcony to $75 floor tickets that include catered food from El Camino Taqueria and Cantina.

Now in its fourth seasons, Macon Pops was founded by Artistic Director and Conductor Matt Catingub and President and CEO Steve Moretti to serve as a musical and cultural attraction for a city whose musical heritage is well-documented. The orchestra features 40 musicians from throughout the Southeast who come together on the day of the show, rehearse and always turn in an energetic, audience-pleasing performance.
