Francine Reed Shines with Lyle Lovett on Letterman

Beloved Atlanta-based blues singer Francine Reed appeared with Lyle Lovett and His Large Band in a very featured (and characteristically sassy) manner on The Late Show with David Letterman on Aug. 25th. Reed and Lovett traded verses and harmonized on “What Do You Do,” originally recorded for Lovett’s third album in 1989.

Reed has been recording and performing with Lyle Lovett since the mid-80s, first appearing on his self-titled debut album in 1986.

Reed’s duet with Lovett from the Letterman show can be watched on YouTube here: Meanwhile, Reed’s next Georgia gig with her own combo is Saturday, Sept. 27th at the Red Clay Theatre in Duluth.
